Yoga for Grief
Grief is deep sorrow. Grief can be caused by the loss of a loved one. Grief can also be caused by the loss of something great, the plans you had made, the family structure you had planned, your home, your safety. The list is endless.
The mindful act of grieving involves consciously and non-judgmentally observing and accepting physical sensations of loss rather than trying to suppress or avoid them. Its about processing these feelings and ideas with self-compassion.
Often difficult emotions can become trapped in the body and yoga can help to release them when people are ready. Yoga can also help to bring awareness so that the feelings and emotions associated with grief can be processed.
When yoga and meditation are brought together, it is possible to begin to heal.
This series is for anyone that may be feeling loss and is ready to begin the process of healing.

Calming Yoga and Meditation for Clinicians and Caregivers
Yoga and Meditation can calm the central nervous system.
Trauma can significantly impact the brain and the central nervous system leading to conditions like PTSD. Secondary trauma — aka compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, or secondary traumatic stress — occurs when someone is significantly impacted by someone else’s trauma. The chronic stress of taking in others’ trauma can lead to symptoms similar to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) such as emotional exhaustion or hypervigilance. Sometimes trauma also causes people to feel disconnected from their bodies.
In this series we will explore techniques in yoga to bring healing to the central nervous system. Techniques in yoga not only include movement and stretching but breathing and meditation. This gentle approach can help people connect to their bodies, reduce stress, and lead to emotional healing.
